AOK Man sits on the civilization's bookshelf, surrounded by canonical volumes — Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, the Cookbook, the Janitor Principle, and other foundational books — waving warmly to greet the visitor
— and so the man in yellow speaks —

What took you so long? I've been waiting. I bet you never thought you'd see a guy in yellow running around taking a stand for kindness, trying to change the world — one anonymous kindness act at a time. Well — the fact that you got caught in my kindness web means you're ready to spin yours. Like my motto says: Kindness is Contagious. So let me tell you what this kindness spider web you're caught in is.

Listen — I always wanted to be a car salesman. But I never quite had the heart to close the deal. After you hang out with me for a bit, though, you'll see I am here to close on you. Not for me — for you. To share your kindness with the world. No charge. No catch. Matter of fact, you'll be growing your kindness account — one spark at a time. Hold on, hold on — I'm not asking for anything. Just for you to help me change the world. Because it's time.

AOK Man takes kindness seriously. Seriously enough to give my own money away. To volunteer. To listen to people's stories. To make strangers smile in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday. We live in a great country. But we need to step it up. This is your chance to find out how kindness changed my life — and maybe how it changes yours.

AOK Man stands on a game-show stage between Door 1 and Door 3, hands on hips, fully owning the bit — confetti falls, costumed contestants cheer in the background
— okay, here we go —

Three doors. All winners.
Pick the one that fits you tonight.

Whichever door you choose — you'll be kinder for it.

SO LET'S MAKE A DEAL
Below

Okay — real talk now. The actual doors don't have confetti and contestants in banana suits. The doors have been around about as long as the civilization itself — eleven thousand years, give or take. So be a little careful which one you pick.

Three ancient stone-arched wooden doors of the civilization. The Tradition (with a brass sun), The Adventurer (with the AOK shield), and The Civilization (with the A²OK World globe). Each door is attended by a different version of the same man — a colonial-era figure at the Tradition, the modern AOK Man at the Adventurer, and a toga-clad figure at the Civilization.

Click a door to choose your path.

The Tradition. Yeah, I had to look this up too. Apparently a kindness civilization quietly ran the show for eleven thousand years. The Tradition is the practice they left behind.
The Adventurer. Hang out with me. I'll teach you some stuff — what I lack in brains I'll return in kindness. Fair warning: you'll start itching to know what the actual civilization is about.
The Civilization. The whole eleven-thousand-year deal. Don't say I didn't warn you. I mean really — they even have their own currency!

— one thing first — I do anonymous acts of kindness. So you are anonymous here. No login. No tracking what you read. No name, ever, unless you choose to leave one. The civilization works that way on purpose. It's the whole point.

— oh and —

I think this is going to be fun. Who would have dreamt of a society where the currency is based on kindness? Actually — they're called sparks. You just being here creates sparks. Thanks.

— and remember —

Either way, you'll be kinder for it.

And the discoveries — the ancient civilization from eleven thousand years ago that set the stage for all of this — you'll want to hear about that too. Come back any time. I'll be on the shelf.
